Coahoma County Red Panthers (Clarksdale, MS) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Leflore County Tigers (Itta Bena, MS), 63-24 in a league bout.

With the victory, Coahoma County upgrades its record to 19-2 on the campaign. The Red Panthers host Riverside (Avon, MS) to play the Bulldogs in a 2A Region 3 bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 12-8. Riverside won 55-35 in their recent league bout against Leland (Leland, MS)

Next up, the Tigers play the Leland Cubs (Leland, MS) in a 2A Region 3 bout, on Saturday, January 28. Leflore County will attempt to upgrade on its 5-10 season record. The Cubs come into the bout with a 0-12 record after their 55-35 league loss to Riverside (Avon, MS).
