Northumberland Indians (Heathsville, VA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Colonial Beach Drifters (Colonial Beach, VA), 66-50 in a league bout.

With the win, Northumberland upgrades its record to 5-5 on the season. The Indians travel to West Point (West Point, VA) to play the Pointers in a non-league bout on Monday, January 23. The Pointers go into the bout with a record of 1-12. West Point lost 77-27 in their recent non-league bout against Maggie Walker (Richmond, VA)

Next up, the Drifters play the Rappahannock Raiders (Warsaw, VA) in a Northern Neck bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Colonial Beach will attempt to upgrade on its 0-10 season record. The Raiders go into the bout with a 2-11 record after their 87-66 non-league loss to Northampton (Eastville, VA).
