Cosby Eagles (Cosby, TN) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Hancock County Indians (Sneedville, TN), 62-53 in a league bout.

With the victory, Cosby upgrades its record to 10-8 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Chuckey-Doak (Afton, TN) to play the Black Knights in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 21. The Black Knights come into the bout with a record of 18-3. Chuckey-Doak won 74-63 in their recent league bout against West Greene (Mosheim, TN)

Next up, the Indians play the North Greene Huskies (Greeneville, TN) in a 1A District 1 bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Hancock County will attempt to upgrade on its 1-13 season record. The Huskies come into the bout with a 7-8 record after their 84-75 league loss to Unaka (Elizabethton, TN).
