Crockett Bulldogs (Crockett, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host New Waverly Bulldogs (New Waverly, TX), 61-57 in a league bout.

With the victory, Crockett upgrades its record to 14-12 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Anderson-Shiro (Anderson, TX) to play the Fighting Owls in a 3A Region III District 23 bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Fighting Owls come into the bout with a record of 6-20. Anderson-Shiro lost 54-35 in their recent league bout against Tarkington (Cleveland, TX)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Trinity Tigers (Trinity, TX) in a 3A Region III District 23 bout, on Tuesday, January 24. New Waverly will attempt to upgrade on its 18-6 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 3-17 record after their 58-51 league loss to Shepherd (Shepherd, TX).
