The Elgin Comets (Marion, OH) basketball felled the host Ridgedale Rockets (Morral, OH), 59-45 in Friday's league test.

The Comets (9-5) will now prepare for their test against Pleasant (Marion, OH). The Spartans go into the non-league test with a 6-7 record. In their last test, Pleasant thwarted Highland (Marengo, OH), 59-48, in a league test.

The Rockets now own a 2-13 record. They play next when they travel to Gilead Christian for a non-league test on Saturday, January 21. Ridgedale will encounter a Indians squad coming off a 59-15 league loss to Marion Hawks (Marion, OH). The Indians record now stands at 1-6.
