Texas High School Basketball - Friona overwhelmed by Muleshoe

The Muleshoe Mules basketball team scored 61 points and restricted the visiting Friona Chieftans to 35 in the Mules league victory on Friday.

The Mules now sport a 6-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lamesa for a 3A Region I District 3 contest on Tuesday, January 24. Muleshoe will battle a Tornadoes team coming off a 61-56 league win over Littlefield (Littlefield, TX). The Tornadoes record now stands at 22-2.

The Chieftans (4-20) will now prepare for their contest against Denver City (Denver City, TX). The Mustangs come into the 3A Region I District 3 contest with a 12-14 record. In their last contest, Denver City was routed by Dimmitt (Dimmitt, TX), 55-43, in a league contest.
