The Gibson County Pioneers basketball team scored 64 points and held the visiting Union City Golden Tornadoes to 27 in the Pioneers league triumph on Friday.

The Pioneers now sport a 9-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host McKenzie for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 24. Gibson County will meet a Rebels team coming off a 65-55 league win over Houston County (Erin, TN). The Rebels record now stands at 10-3.

The Golden Tornadoes (5-13) will now prepare for their contest against Huntingdon (Huntingdon, TN). The Mustangs enter the 2A District 12 contest with a 9-11 record. In their last contest, Huntingdon was routed by Westview (Martin, TN), 55-48, in a league contest.
