Hamtramck Cosmos (Hamtramck, MI) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting University Prep Panthers (Detroit, MI), 69-61 in a league bout.

With the win, Hamtramck upgrades its record to 8-5 on the season. The Cosmos travel to River Rouge (River Rouge, MI) to play the Panthers in a Michigan Metro bout on Friday, January 27. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 8-4.

Next up, the Panthers play the Roseville Panthers (Roseville, MI) in a non-league bout, on Sunday, January 22. University Prep will attempt to upgrade on its 2-10 season record. The Panthers go into the bout with a 8-4 record after their 55-54 league win over L'Anse Creuse North (Macomb, MI).
