The Maple River Eagles basketball team (Mapleton, MN), dropped 49-39 in Friday's non-league battle with the host Hayfield Vikings (Hayfield, MN)

The Vikings now possess a 12-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Blooming Prairie for a non-league battle on Tuesday, January 24. Hayfield will battle a Awesome Blossoms team coming off a 65-63 non-league win over Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton (Janesville, MN). The Awesome Blossoms record now stands at 6-7.

The Eagles (13-3) will now prepare for their battle against Medford (Medford, MN). The Tigers come into the AA Section 2 battle with a 2-11 record. In their last battle, Medford dropped by Bethlehem Academy (Faribault, MN), 84-62, in a non-league battle.
