The Heritage Hurricanes basketball team (Newport News, VA), was nudged 77-71 in Friday's league battle with the host Woodside Wolverines (Newport News, VA)
The Wolverines now possess a 12-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Gloucester for a Peninsula battle on Friday, January 27. Woodside will battle a Dukes team coming off a 79-48 league loss to Kecoughtan (Hampton, VA). The Dukes record now stands at 1-13.
The Hurricanes (7-8) will now prepare for their battle against Phoebus (Hampton, VA). The Phantoms come into the Peninsula battle with a 7-8 record. In their last battle, Phoebus edged Bethel (Hampton, VA), 47-46, in a league battle.
