In Friday's league outing, the Jayton Jaybirds (Jayton, TX) basketball squad overwhelmed the visiting Paducah Dragons (Paducah, TX), by a margin of 75-23.

The Jaybirds (18-1) will now prepare for their outing against Motley County (Matador, TX). The Matadors go into the 1A Region I District 5 outing with a 1-8 record. In their last outing, Motley County was trounced by Guthrie (Guthrie, TX), 78-16, in a league outing.

The Dragons now own a 13-8 record. They play next when they travel to Spur for a 1A Region I District 5 outing on Tuesday, January 24. Paducah will clash with a Bulldogs squad coming off a 52-49 league win over Patton Springs (Afton, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 9-8.
