The Newhalen Malamutes (Newhalen, AK) basketball knocked off the host King Cove T-Jacks (King Cove, AK), 70-60 in Friday's league test.
The Malamutes (10-1) will now prepare for their test against Chief Ivan Blanka (New Stuyahok, AK). The Eagles go into the 1A Aleutian Chain test with a 2-1 record. In their last test, Chief Ivan Blanka went down by Tanalian (Port Alsworth, AK), 67-66, in a league test.
The T-Jacks now own a 1-2 record. They play next when they travel to Tanalian for a 1A Aleutian Chain test on Saturday, January 21. King Cove will encounter a Lynx squad coming off a 69-45 league loss to Togiak (Togiak, AK). The Lynx record now stands at 3-5.
