In Friday's league match, the host Salem Greyhounds basketball team scored a tight 59-52 triumph over the Melbourne Bearkatz.
In their next game, the Greyhounds meet the Newport Greyhounds (Newport, AR) in a 3A Region 2 match, on Wednesday, January 25. Salem will attempt to better on its 4-5 season record.
With the defeat, Melbourne moves to 8-12 on the year. The Bearkatz host Rural Special (Fox, AR) to meet the Rebels in a non-league match on Monday, January 23. The Rebels enter the match with a record of 3-18. Rural Special won 53-46 in their recent league match against Viola (Viola, AR)
