Somerville Yeguas (Somerville, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Normangee Panthers (Normangee, TX), 66-59 in a league bout.

With the win, Somerville upgrades its record to 10-12 on the season. The Yeguas travel to Snook (Snook, TX) to play the Bluejays in a 2A Region IV District 26 bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Bluejays go into the bout with a record of 6-15. Snook lost 58-33 in their recent league bout against Iola (Iola, TX)

Next up, the Panthers play the Mumford Mustangs (Mumford, TX) in a 2A Region IV District 26 bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Normangee will attempt to upgrade on its 7-19 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 17-10 record after their 76-29 league win over Burton (Burton, TX).
