In Friday's league outing, the Patton Panthers (Morganton, NC) basketball squad beat the visiting Polk County Wolverines (Columbus, NC), by a count of 44-31.
The Panthers (7-10) will now prepare for their outing against Draughn (Valdese, NC). The Wildcats go into the non-league outing with a 8-9 record. In their last outing, Draughn defeated Avery County (Newland, NC), 53-45, in a league outing.
The Wolverines now hold a 5-12 record. They play next when they host Hendersonville for a 2A Conference 41 outing on Tuesday, January 24. Polk County will clash with a Bearcats squad coming off a 75-49 league win over R-S Central (Rutherfordton, NC). The Bearcats record now stands at 15-3.
