Whittemore-Prescott Cardinals (Whittemore, MI) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Rogers City Hurons (Rogers City, MI), 53-51 in a league bout.

With the victory, Whittemore-Prescott upgrades its record to 4-4 on the campaign. The Cardinals host Au Gres-Sims (Au Gres, MI) to play the Wolverines in a North Star bout on Monday, January 23. The Wolverines come into the bout with a record of 0-12. Au Gres-Sims lost 39-33 in their recent league bout against Atlanta (Atlanta, MI)

Next up, the Hurons play the Hillman Tigers (Hillman, MI) in a North Star bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Rogers City will attempt to upgrade on its 2-8 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 7-1 record after their 69-15 league win over Fairview (Fairview, MI).
