Texas High School Basketball - Seguin nips Smithson Valley

Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Seguin Matadors (Seguin, TX) and the host Smithson Valley Rangers (Spring Branch, TX), saw Seguin's basketball squad hold off Smithson Valley by a count of 82-75.

With the victory, Seguin upgrades its record to 17-8 on the campaign. The Matadors host Tivy (Kerrville, TX) to play the Antlers in a 5A Region IV District 26 challenge on Tuesday, January 24. The Antlers come into the challenge with a record of 14-4. Tivy won 55-46 in their recent league challenge against Canyon (New Braunfels, TX)

Next up, the Rangers play the Wagner Thunderbirds (San Antonio, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 26 challenge, on Tuesday, January 24. Smithson Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 4-17 season record. The Thunderbirds come into the challenge with a 15-10 record after their 64-49 league win over Pieper (San Antonio, TX).
