South Winneshiek Warriors (Calmar, IA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting West Central Blue Devils (Maynard, IA), 65-46 in a league bout.

With the win, South Winneshiek upgrades its record to 9-6 on the season. The Warriors travel to New Hampton (New Hampton, IA) to play the Chickasaws in a non-league bout on Monday, January 23. The Chickasaws go into the bout with a record of 6-8. New Hampton won 57-37 in their recent league bout against Waukon (Waukon, IA)

Next up, the Blue Devils play the Turkey Valley Trojans (Jackson Junction, IA) in a Upper Iowa bout, on Tuesday, January 24. West Central will attempt to upgrade on its 1-9 season record. The Trojans go into the bout with a 8-7 record after their 87-59 non-league loss to Crestwood (Cresco, IA).
