Wartburg Central Bulldogs (Wartburg, TN) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Sunbright Tigers (Sunbright, TN), 42-40 in a league bout.

With the win, Wartburg Central upgrades its record to 3-14 on the season. The Bulldogs travel to Oliver Springs (Oliver Springs, TN) to play the Bobcats in a 1A District 3 bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Bobcats go into the bout with a record of 8-10. Oliver Springs lost 47-44 in their recent league bout against Oneida (Oneida, TN)

Next up, the Tigers play the White Academy Knights (Harrogate, TN) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Sunbright will attempt to upgrade on its 2-13 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 5-8 record after their 56-48 non-league loss to KACHEA (Kingsport, TN).
