Georgia High School Basketball - Pierce County nips Brantley County

January 20, 2023: Blackshear, GA 31516

Pierce County Bears (Blackshear, GA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Brantley County Herons (Nahunta, GA), 49-44 in a league bout.

With the win, Pierce County upgrades its record to 9-9 on the season. The Bears host Hilliard (Hilliard, FL) to play the Red Flashes in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 21. The Red Flashes go into the bout with a record of 14-6. Hilliard lost 69-22 in their recent non-league bout against Nease (Ponte Vedra, FL)

Next up, the Herons play the Toombs County Bulldogs (Lyons, GA) in a AA Region 3 bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Brantley County will attempt to upgrade on its 11-7 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 4-13 record after their 74-47 non-league loss to Bleckley County (Cochran, GA).
