Tiftarea Academy Panthers (Chula, GA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Brookwood Warriors (Thomasville, GA), 53-38 in a league bout.

With the victory, Tiftarea Academy upgrades its record to 8-2 on the campaign. The Panthers host Westwood (Camilla, GA) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Monday, January 23. The Wildcats come into the bout with a record of 5-9. Westwood lost 56-31 in their recent league bout against Citizens Christian Academy (Douglas, GA)

Next up, the Warriors play the Valwood Valiants (Valdosta, GA) in a GIAA AAAA/AAA District 3 bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Brookwood will attempt to upgrade on its 11-9 season record. The Valiants come into the bout with a 4-8 record after their 44-12 league loss to Southland Academy (Americus, GA).
