The Round Top-Carmine Cubs (Carmine, TX) basketball nipped the visiting Calvert Trojans (Calvert, TX), 2-0 in Friday's league test.

The Cubs (8-6) will now prepare for their test against Richards (Richards, TX). The Panthers go into the 1A Region IV District 29 test with a 8-3 record. In their last test, Richards got by McDade (McDade, TX), 48-25, in a league test.

The Trojans now own a 0-10 record. They play next when they host Buckholts for a 1A Region IV District 29 test on Tuesday, January 24. Calvert will encounter a Badgers squad coming off a 63-8 league loss to Fayetteville (Fayetteville, TX). The Badgers record now stands at 3-11.
