Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Hiwassee Dam Eagles (Murphy, NC) and the visiting Copper Basin Cougars (Copperhill, TN), saw Hiwassee Dam's basketball squad overcome Copper Basin by a tally of 68-59.

With the victory, Hiwassee Dam improves its record to 9-7 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Towns County (Hiawassee, GA) to confront the Indians in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 24. The Indians come into the challenge with a record of 12-6. Towns County won 52-49 in their recent league challenge against Lake Oconee Academy (Greensboro, GA)

Next up, the Cougars confront the Sale Creek Panthers (Sale Creek, TN) in a 1A District 5 challenge, on Saturday, January 21. Copper Basin will attempt to improve on its 10-7 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 14-7 record after their 43-34 non-league win over Sequatchie County (Dunlap, TN).
