El Monte Lions (El Monte, CA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Mountain View Vikings (El Monte, CA), 48-27 in a league bout.

With the victory, El Monte upgrades its record to 5-12 on the campaign. The Lions host Marshall (Pasadena, CA) to play the Eagles in a Mission Valley bout on Wednesday, January 25. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 14-4. Marshall lost 56-45 in their recent league bout against Gabrielino (San Gabriel, CA)

Next up, the Vikings play the Rosemead Panthers (Rosemead, CA) in a Mission Valley bout, on Monday, January 23. Mountain View will attempt to upgrade on its 1-14 season record. The Panthers come into the bout with a 8-11 record after their 27-12 league win over South El Monte (South El Monte, CA).
