Forest Bearcats (Forest, MS) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Union Yellowjackets (Union, MS), 56-38 in a league bout.

With the win, Forest upgrades its record to 17-3 on the season. The Bearcats host Morton (Morton, MS) to play the Panthers in a 3A Region 5 bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 15-3. Morton won 57-25 in their recent league bout against Southeast Lauderdale (Meridian, MS)

Next up, the Yellowjackets play the Enterprise Bulldogs (Enterprise, MS) in a 3A Region 5 bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Union will attempt to upgrade on its 0-4 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 19-4 record after their 83-48 league win over Clarkdale (Meridian, MS).
