Perquimans Pirates (Hertford, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Gates County Red Barons (Gatesville, NC), 64-28 in a league bout.

With the win, Perquimans upgrades its record to 13-2 on the season. The Pirates host Washington County (Plymouth, NC) to play the Panthers in a 1A Conference 2 bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 5-9.

Next up, the Red Barons play the Tarboro Vikings (Tarboro, NC) in a 1A Conference 2 bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Gates County will attempt to upgrade on its 8-8 season record.
