Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones (Springfield, IL) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Glenwood Titans (Chatham, IL), 34-27 in a league bout.

With the victory, Sacred Heart-Griffin upgrades its record to 18-5 on the campaign. The Cyclones travel to Springfield (Springfield, IL) to play the Senators in a Central State Eight bout on Wednesday, January 25. The Senators come into the bout with a record of 12-11. Springfield lost 42-32 in their recent league bout against Rochester (Rochester, IL)

Next up, the Titans play the Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs (Mahomet, IL) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 21. Glenwood will attempt to upgrade on its 9-12 season record. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a 17-6 record after their 47-23 non-league loss to Morton (Morton, IL).
