Texas High School Basketball - Grape Creek ripped by Merkel

The Merkel Badgers basketball team scored 69 points and held the visiting Grape Creek Eagles to 17 in the Badgers league triumph on Friday.
The Badgers now sport a 19-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Clyde for a 3A Region I District 6 contest on Tuesday, January 24. Merkel will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 58-31 league loss to Coahoma (Coahoma, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 13-15.
The Eagles (3-18) will now prepare for their contest against Wall (Wall, TX). The Hawks enter the 3A Region I District 6 contest with a 21-4 record. In their last contest, Wall was routed by Jim Ned (Tuscola, TX), 45-35, in a league contest.
