Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Hayfield Vikings (Hayfield, MN) and the visiting Maple River Eagles (Mapleton, MN), saw Hayfield's basketball squad wallop Maple River by a tally of 60-34.

With the victory, Hayfield improves its record to 13-2 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Rushford-Peterson (Rushford, MN) to play the Trojans in a A Section 1 challenge on Saturday, January 21. The Trojans come into the challenge with a record of 9-7. Rushford-Peterson won 57-31 in their recent non-league challenge against St. Charles (St. Charles, MN)

Next up, the Eagles play the Blue Earth Buccaneers (Blue Earth, MN) in a AA Section 2 challenge, on Monday, January 23. Maple River will attempt to improve on its 9-6 season record.
