The Huntington Red Devils basketball team scored 78 points and held the visiting Newton Eagles to 25 in the Red Devils league triumph on Friday.

The Red Devils now sport a 21-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Pollok Central for a 3A Region III District 21 contest on Tuesday, January 24. Huntington will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 58-57 league loss to Pineywoods Community Academy (Lufkin, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 6-11.

The Eagles (1-5) will now prepare for their contest against Hemphill (Hemphill, TX). The Hornets enter the 3A Region III District 21 contest with a 2-14 record. In their last contest, Hemphill was routed by Woodville (Woodville, TX), 64-23, in a league contest.
