The Porter Spartans basketball team (Porter, TX), was overwhelmed 53-19 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Huntsville Hornets (Huntsville, TX)
The Hornets now possess a 10-17 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lufkin for a 5A Region II District 16 battle on Tuesday, January 24. Huntsville will confront a Panthers team coming off a 44-32 league win over Nacogdoches (Nacogdoches, TX). The Panthers record now stands at 13-11.
The Spartans (9-12) will now prepare for their battle against Dayton (Dayton, TX). The Broncos come into the 5A Region II District 16 battle with a 5-17 record. In their last battle, Dayton was overwhelmed by Kingwood Park (Kingwood, TX), 71-29, in a league battle.
