Georgia High School Basketball - Sumter County thwarts Jeff Davis

The Sumter County Panthers (Americus, GA) basketball knocked off the host Jeff Davis Yellowjackets (Hazlehurst, GA), 46-27 in Friday's league test.
The Panthers (2-14) will now prepare for their test against Cook (Adel, GA). The Hornets go into the AA Region 1 test with a 5-10 record. In their last test, Cook went down by Fitzgerald (Fitzgerald, GA), 52-23, in a league test.
The Yellowjackets now sport a 1-16 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Berrien for a AA Region 1 contest on Tuesday, January 24. Jeff Davis will battle a Rebels team coming off a 61-58 non-league win over Clinch County (Homerville, GA). The Rebels record now stands at 14-5.
