In Friday's league outing, the Kennedy Cougars (Cedar Rapids, IA) basketball squad edged the visiting Prairie Hawks (Cedar Rapids, IA), by a count of 45-38.
The Cougars (8-3) will now prepare for their outing against Western Dubuque (Epworth, IA). The Bobcats go into the Mississippi Valley outing with a 3-12 record. In their last outing, Western Dubuque held off Dubuque Senior (Dubuque, IA), 48-42, in a league outing.
The Hawks now hold a 4-7 record. They play next when they host Dubuque Senior for a Mississippi Valley outing on Tuesday, January 24. Prairie will clash with a Rams squad coming off a 61-53 non-league win over Crestwood (Cresco, IA). The Rams record now stands at 7-9.
