The Loop Longhorns basketball team (Loop, TX), was overwhelmed 74-4 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Klondike Cougars (Lamesa, TX)
The Cougars now possess a 15-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Wellman-Union for a 1A Region I District 8 battle on Wednesday, January 25. Klondike will confront a Wildcats team coming off a 53-38 league loss to Grady (Lenorah, TX). The Wildcats record now stands at 2-7.
The Longhorns (5-15) will now prepare for their battle against Sands (Ackerly, TX). The Mustangs come into the 1A Region I District 8 battle with a 21-5 record. In their last battle, Sands trounced Dawson (Welch, TX), 76-12, in a league battle.
