Union Grove Lions (Gladewater, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Linden-Kildare Tigers (Linden, TX), 51-27 in a league bout.

With the victory, Union Grove upgrades its record to 17-10 on the campaign. The Lions host Hawkins (Hawkins, TX) to play the Hawks in a 2A Region III District 21 bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Hawks come into the bout with a record of 13-2. Hawkins won 84-10 in their recent league bout against Big Sandy (Big Sandy, TX)

Next up, the Tigers play the McLeod Longhorns (McLeod, TX) in a 2A Region III District 21 bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Linden-Kildare will attempt to upgrade on its 6-17 season record. The Longhorns come into the bout with a 10-11 record after their 42-21 league win over Harleton (Harleton, TX).
