Western Albemarle Warriors (Crozet, VA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Monticello Mustangs (Charlottesville, VA), 36-23 in a league bout.

With the win, Western Albemarle upgrades its record to 10-4 on the season. The Warriors host Orange County (Orange, VA) to play the Fighting Hornets in a Jefferson bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Fighting Hornets go into the bout with a record of 9-7. Orange County lost 57-45 in their recent league bout against Fluvanna County (Palmyra, VA)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Louisa County Lions (Mineral, VA) in a Jefferson bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Monticello will attempt to upgrade on its 3-12 season record. The Lions go into the bout with a 13-2 record after their 67-2 league win over Goochland (Goochland, VA).
