Texas High School Basketball - Newman Smith nudges Wakeland

In Friday's league outing, the Newman Smith Trojans (Carrollton, TX) basketball squad nipped the host Wakeland Wolverines (Frisco, TX), by a margin of 34-30.

The Trojans (9-16) will now prepare for their outing against Reedy (Frisco, TX). The Lions go into the 5A Region II District 9 outing with a 14-14 record. In their last outing, Reedy was tipped by The Colony (The Colony, TX), 50-31, in a league outing.

The Wolverines now own a 9-22 record. They play next when they travel to Lone Star for a 5A Region II District 9 outing on Tuesday, January 24. Wakeland will clash with a Rangers squad coming off a 49-38 league win over Frisco (Frisco, TX). The Rangers record now stands at 11-11.
