New Mexico High School Basketball - Pojoaque Valley thwarts Taos

The Pojoaque Valley Elks/Elkettes (Pojoaque, NM) basketball knocked off the visiting Taos Tigers (Taos, NM), 42-26 in Friday's league test.
The Elks/Elkettes (7-11) will now prepare for their test against Rio Grande (Albuquerque, NM). The Ravens go into the non-league test with a 1-13 record. In their last test, Rio Grande went down by Manzano (Albuquerque, NM), 50-31, in a league test.
The Tigers now own a 5-12 record. They play next when they host Moriarty for a 4A District 2 contest on Tuesday, January 24. Taos will meet a Pintos team coming off a 59-44 league win over Espanola Valley (Espanola, NM). The Pintos record now stands at 10-8.
