The Pope John Paul II Knights (Hendersonville, TN) basketball nipped the host St. Cecilia Academy Scarabs (Nashville, TN), 58-56 in Friday's non-league test.
The Knights (7-11) will now prepare for their test against Brentwood Academy (Brentwood, TN). The Eagles go into the Division II-AA Middle test with a 9-9 record. In their last test, Brentwood Academy got by Christ Presbyterian Academy (Nashville, TN), 45-41, in a non-league test.
The Scarabs now own a 5-10 record. They play next when they host Ensworth for a Division II-AA Middle test on Tuesday, January 24. St. Cecilia Academy will encounter a Tigers squad coming off a 57-51 non-league win over Sparkman (Harvest, AL). The Tigers record now stands at 15-3.
