Simley Spartans (Inver Grove Heights, MN) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting South St. Paul Packers (South St. Paul, MN), 52-42 in a league bout.

With the victory, Simley upgrades its record to 2-14 on the campaign. The Spartans host Mahtomedi (Mahtomedi, MN) to play the Zephyrs in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Zephyrs come into the bout with a record of 9-5. Mahtomedi won 77-63 in their recent league bout against Hastings (Hastings, MN)

Next up, the Packers play the North Polars (North St. Paul, MN) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 24. South St. Paul will attempt to upgrade on its 5-11 season record. The Polars come into the bout with a 14-2 record after their 54-51 non-league win over Tartan (Oakdale, MN).
