Waco Lions (Waco, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting University Trojans (Waco, TX), 49-17 in a league bout.

With the victory, Waco upgrades its record to 11-12 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Killeen (Killeen, TX) to play the Kangaroos in a 5A Region III District 22 bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Kangaroos come into the bout with a record of 12-13. Killeen won 61-44 in their recent league bout against Chaparral (Killeen, TX)

Next up, the Trojans play the Belton Tigers (Belton, TX) in a 5A Region III District 22 bout, on Friday, January 27. University will attempt to upgrade on its 0-17 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 1-18 record after their 68-26 league loss to Shoemaker (Killeen, TX).
