Texas High School Basketball - Valley View overwhelmed by Vela

The Vela Sabercats basketball team scored 83 points and restricted the visiting Valley View Tigers to 13 in the Sabercats league victory on Friday.

The Sabercats now sport a 23-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Rowe for a 5A Region IV District 31 contest on Tuesday, January 24. Vela will battle a Warriors team coming off a 50-1 league win over Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest (Pharr, TX). The Warriors record now stands at 20-8.

The Tigers (2-15) will now prepare for their contest against Sharyland (Mission, TX). The Rattlers come into the 5A Region IV District 31 contest with a 20-9 record. In their last contest, Sharyland was routed by McAllen Memorial (McAllen, TX), 36-27, in a league contest.
