The Franklin Panthers (Franklin, NC) basketball nipped the visiting Tuscola Mountaineers (Waynesville, NC), 45-38 in Friday's league test.
The Panthers (12-1) will now prepare for their test against Pisgah (Canton, NC). The Bears go into the test with a 14-0 record. In their last test, Pisgah got by Smoky Mountain (Sylva, NC), 44-20, in a league test.
The Mountaineers now own a 11-3 record. They play next when they host North Henderson for a test on Tuesday, January 24. Tuscola will encounter a Knights squad coming off a 39-26 non-league loss to Smoky Mountain (Sylva, NC). The Knights record now stands at 2-14.
