The Auburn Eagles (Riner, VA) basketball felled the visiting George Wythe Maroons (Wytheville, VA), 43-33 in Friday's non-league test.
The Eagles (10-5) will now prepare for their test against Grayson County (Independence, VA). The Blue Devils go into the non-league test with a 2-10 record. In their last test, Grayson County thwarted Giles (Pearisburg, VA), 43-32, in a non-league test.
The Maroons now own a 9-2 record. They play next when they travel to Galax for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 24. George Wythe will encounter a Maroon Tide squad coming off a 32-31 non-league loss to Bland County (Rocky Gap, VA). The Maroon Tide record now stands at 3-7.
