Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Monroe Redhawks (Monroe, NC) and the visiting West Stanly Colts (Oakboro, NC), saw Monroe's basketball squad knock off West Stanly by a count of 43-31.

With the victory, Monroe upgrades its record to 9-3 on the campaign. The Redhawks travel to Parkwood (Monroe, NC) to play the Wolf Pack in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 27. The Wolf Pack come into the challenge with a record of 3-8.

Next up, the Colts play the Anson Bearcats (Wadesboro, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 24. West Stanly will attempt to upgrade on its 13-2 season record. The Bearcats come into the challenge with a 3-6 record after their 66-39 non-league loss to Forest Hills (Marshville, NC).
