Georgia High School Basketball - Sumter County tipped by Cook

January 20, 2024: Adel, GA 31620

The Cook Hornets basketball team scored 49 points and held the visiting Sumter County Panthers to 48 in the Hornets league triumph on Saturday.

The Hornets now sport a 7-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Irwin County for a non-league contest on Friday, January 26. Cook will meet a Indians team coming off a 58-40 non-league loss to Lanier County (Lakeland, GA). The Indians record now stands at 3-14.

The Panthers (6-12) will now prepare for their contest against Fitzgerald (Fitzgerald, GA). The Purple Hurricane enter the AA Region 1 contest with a 8-9 record. In their last contest, Fitzgerald nudged Cook (Adel, GA), 60-57, in a league contest.
