Elba Tigers (Elba, AL) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Opp Bobcats (Opp, AL), 58-44 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Elba upgrades its record to 13-8 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Brantley (Brantley, AL) to play the Bulldogs in a 1A Area 2 bout on Monday, January 22. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 11-8. Brantley won 55-39 in their recent league bout against Kinston (Kinston, AL)

Next up, the Bobcats play the Daleville Warhawks (Daleville, AL) in a 3A Area 4 bout, on Tuesday, January 23. Opp will attempt to upgrade on its 2-19 season record. The Warhawks come into the bout with a 9-11 record after their 67-47 league loss to Pike County (Brundidge, AL).
