Washington Demons (Washington, IA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Keokuk Chiefs (Keokuk, IA), 55-51 in a league bout.

With the victory, Washington upgrades its record to 6-6 on the campaign. The Demons host Ottumwa (Ottumwa, IA) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Monday, January 22. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 5-3. Ottumwa won 49-43 in their recent non-league bout against Hoover (Des Moines, IA)

Next up, the Chiefs play the West Hancock Eagles (Britt, IA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 23. Keokuk will attempt to upgrade on its 10-4 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 1-15 record after their 84-19 league loss to Lake Mills (Lake Mills, IA).
