In Saturday's non-league match, the host Pender Patriots basketball team scored a good 53-45 triumph over the Wallace-Rose Hill Bulldogs.

In their next game, the Patriots meet the Heide Trask Titans (Rocky Point, NC) in a 1A/2A Waccamaw match, on Tuesday, January 23. Pender will attempt to move on its 3-9 season record. The Titans enter the match with a 10-4 record after their 90-58 league win over East Columbus (Lake Waccamaw, NC).
