The Aliceville Yellowjackets basketball team scored 45 points and held the visiting Pickens County Tornadoes to 24 in the Yellowjackets non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Yellowjackets now sport a 1-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Marion for a 2A Area 5 contest on Tuesday, January 23. Aliceville will play a Rams squad coming off a 57-53 league win over Greene County (Eutaw, AL). The Rams record now stands at 14-9.

Next up, the Tornadoes play the Holy Spirit Catholic Saints (Tuscaloosa, AL) in a 1A Area 9 challenge, on Monday, January 22. Pickens County will attempt to upgrade on its 1-5 season record. The Saints come into the challenge with a 12-7 record after their 37-33 non-league win over American Christian Academy (Tuscaloosa, AL).
